There is different types of categories such as these category one winds up to 74-95 miles per hour, category two winds are up to 96-110 miles per hour, category three winds are up to 111-130 miles per hour, category four winds are up to 131-155 miles per hour, category five winds are up to 155 and greater per hour.

Hurricanes begin over the atlantic and pacific ocean and start as a tropical storms with the warm moist water. As some of the water rises it evaporates and alots of it heats up in the atmosphere. The winds in the north start to trun counter clock wise and in the south it truns clock wise and make what is called the eye. And if the water stays at 79F or higher and still gets moist air then the hurricanes can grow and increase its rate. The speeds of a hurricane can reach up to 74 to 200 miles per hour. As some of the water gets over the land or cool water it starts to lose its speed.
